Cookie Notice
Seal the Date Ltd · Updated 6 October 2026
This notice explains how Seal the Date Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on Seal the Date, in line with UK PECR and UK GDPR. For broader data practices see our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We also use local storage and similar technologies for cart drafts and session continuity.
2. Cookies we use
- Essential — authentication/session cookies (including Supabase auth cookies and, in demo environments, a signed mock session cookie), security and load-balancing cookies provided by our host (Vercel), and checkout state required to complete a purchase with Stripe.
- Functional — first-touch referral attribution cookie (to credit a partner or customer referral), and local storage for basket / customiser drafts so your work is not lost between pages.
- Analytics — first-party product analytics events (for example page views and checkout steps) stored in our database. We do not load third-party advertising pixels by default. Analytics props are scrubbed for common PII keys.
3. Stripe & payment
When you pay, Stripe may set cookies required for fraud prevention and payment UI (Payment Element / wallets). Those are governed by Stripe's own notices.
4. Consent
Essential cookies are used because they are necessary to provide the service you request. Where PECR requires consent for non-essential cookies, we will only set those after consent. You can control cookies via your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or checkout from working.
5. Retention
Session cookies typically last for the browser session or a fixed period (for example up to 30 days for mock demo sessions). Referral attribution cookies follow the attribution window configured for our referral programme. Local storage drafts remain until you clear site data.
